Kevin Durant Drops 63 pts in Jamal Crawford’s Pro-Am
Earlier this week on Sunday night, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder returned to Seattle to play in Jamal Crawford’s Pro-Am. It was the first time he played basketball in Seattle since his rookie season in 2008, and he more than showed up. Durant put on a show for his Seattle fans, dropping 63 points (on 62 shots).
“I just want to say I miss you guys,” Durant told a crammed small-college gym filled with about 3,000 fans, many in Durant’s old Seattle SuperSonics jersey. “Thank you for the warm welcome. I can’t wait to come back.”
Durant had a shot at the end of regulation to win the game, but missed and his team lost in overtime, 147-141. Jamal Crawford finished with 46 points. Martell Webster guarded Durant most of the night.
Although the fans got what they came for, Durant needs to never shoot like that again. He missed more than half his shots and went 8-36 from beyond the arc. No more of that KD, please.
On another note, bring back hoops to Seattle! It’s one of this country’s breeding grounds for basketball talent and the city’s fan-base is being put to base. Many of those reading this will be new NBA fans, but trust me when I say the NBA is in much better shape when there’s a franchise in Seattle.
Until then, enjoy these Durant highlights from Crawford’s Pro-Am in Seattle.
