David Stern Interview with Jim Rome
Earlier today, NBA commissioner David Stern joined Jim Rome to discuss a wide range of basketball topics. The conversation started off pretty well with Stern boasting about playoff ratings, and even discussing consequences of AAU ball on NBA style of play.
That, however, was not the best part of the interview. Not even close. Rome brought up the NBA Draft Lottery and asked Stern if there was a chance it was rigged.
Honestly, I’m not a fan of either individual, but I ‘hate’ Jim Rome a lot more. In my opinion, he’s the worst of these two evils. So here’s what happened: Rome asks Stern if the lottery was fixed. Obviously Stern denies it, but Rome keeps pushing the topic. Frustrated and tired of Rome’s “cheap thrills”, Stern responds “Do you still beat your wife?”
It was hilarious. He completely caught Rome off guard, and continued to berate him for the rest of the phone call. The cherry on top- he tells Rome that he has to get off the phone “to call someone more important, like Stephen A. Smith.”

The exchange between Rome and Stern start at the 7:45 mark. Stern on full “‘I don’t give a ****’ mode.
